Carmountside Primary Academy

At Carmountside Primary Academy we value and are dedicated to the teaching of Art as it is one of the highest forms of human creativity.  We recognise that Art should engage, inspire and challenge pupils whilst equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art.  We intend to provide all children with a wide and varied curriculum that will provide all children with skills and opportunities that they will require to successfully transfer into all areas of the curriculum. Through teaching and learning about great artists and designers, and the works they have created, our pupils will know how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our local and wider  environment.  We are committed to providing an ‘Arts Rich Curriculum’ for our children. We believe that by developing this, we can contribute to the quality of our children’s lives, both within and beyond school.
