PE  Grant 2022/23

The government has provided additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools this year. This funding ‐ provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport ‐ will be allocated to primary school headteachers.

This funding is ring‐fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

Carmountside Primary Academy has received an additional £17,790 to spend on PE for 2022/23

This is an opportunity to further develop PE provision in our school. A large proportion of the funding for this year will be spent on employing PE specialists to work alongside our staff & pupils to deliver high quality PE lessons and promote leadership. Staff will benefit by receiving weekly professional development which will improve their skill levels and confidence in delivering PE. Pupils will benefit as they will be participating in high quality PE lessons and the range of sports on offer will be extended as well as offering more extra-curricular clubs. We will also improve our playground facilities to promote a range of activities as well as more opportunties for pupils to compete with other schools.
